Aaahhh, Spring is finally here! We are looking forward to another
fun-filled summer on Sweet Lake. Marian and I would like to host this
year's Lake Association Party and meeting. Since we hosted it last year, we
feel that we should give first option to anybody else who wants to host it.
Does anybody know if there is someone else who wants to host the party &
meeting? If not, here is what we would like to do...

If we are to host the party & meeting, we would like to roast a hog and make
day-long part of it. At some point in the day, the Sweet Lake Association
members could convene in our screen room for the formal meeting. While the
meeting is underway, the party would continue for non-SLA members, kids, and
others who do not want to attend the meeting. Our emphasis for the day
would be geared toward enjoying the company of our neighbors, friends and
family rather than the formal meeting, but we would certainly want to make
sure that our meeting business is concluded. We propose to have a pot-luck
style party, where we will supply and roast the hog, disposable
cups/plates/utensils, and maybe a soft drink such as iced tea. Others
might want to bring their favorite dish-to-pass, and their own beverage
of choice. Anybody is welcome to attend the party but only SLA members
should attend the actual meeting which could convene privately in the
screen room at a given time. Marian and I will probably have a few family
members and/or friends staying with us for the weekend and we encourage
the party goers to invite their friends and family to the party.
As much as we would like to, we cant host a party for
the entire Van Buren county, but would like to expand the party beyond just
SLA members.

We would appreciate assistance with the planning, setup and cleanup of the
party. We want to keep the party simple, horseshoes, swimming, eating,
fishing, and welcome any and all suggestions. If all are in agreement that
Marian and I will host the party, we will begin to solicit help from anybody
who is interested, and, we can use
http://www.javagarden.com/bboard/wwwboard.html
for party and meeting planning. Let us know your feedback on all of this
and we can get busy planning this festive event!

BTW, we were thinking of either 14-August or 21-August for the party,
but feel free to make suggestions?

All the best,
Mark and Marian Mullett
